Rice Khichdi


Rice Khichdi
Ingredients:
  • Rice - 1/2cup
  • Moong Dal - 1/4th cup
  • Turmeric Powder - 1/4th tsp
  • Cumin Seeds - 1/4th tsp
  • Ghee - 1tsp
  • Bay Leaf (Tej Patta) - 1pc
  • Clove - 2pcs
  • Garam Masala Powder - 1/4th tsp
  • Cumin Powder - 1/2tsp
  • Black Pepper Powder - 1/4th tsp
  • Cauli Flower (Fool Gobi) - 1/2 cup chopped
  • Carrot - 1/2cup sliced
  • Green Peas - 1/4th cup
  • Ginger Grated - 1tsp
  • Tomato - 1/4th cup chopped
  • Raisins - 12-15pcs
  • Green Chili - 3pcs chopped
  • Salt - To taste
Preparetion Method:
  • Clean, rinse the dal and rice together.
  • Heat oil in Kadhai or Vessel. Add cumin seeds, cloves, Green chili, bay leaf.
  • Once it starts to crackle add chopped cauli flower, carrot, ginger, tomato, turmeric powder, cumin powder, salt, black pepper.
  • Fry it for 2-3 minutes on medium flame.
  • Add drain soaked rice, dal and add 2cups of water and peas, raisin.
  • Bring to a boil, stir and pressure cook upto 2 whistles.
  • Once done remove from heat.
  • Serve hot with pickle and Yogurt (DAHI).
